Our tour already happened in June 2018, but we still speak about all the interesting things and facts we learned. Andreas took a lot of time to answer all the questions and get into a discussion about all the different topics he mentioned. Driving with the bikes was a bit scary but we got used to it very quickly. Sitting and driving through this lovely city was wonderful. The whole tour was a blast! Overview of the Tour
Give the kids a break from the museums, galleries and architectural marvels that Copenhagen is renowned for. While we love everything the city has to offer, our younger companions don’t always feel the same about our historic and contemporary icons. With that in mind, we have created a tour that is engaging for the whole family. We visit adventurous and stimulating playgrounds where the kids can play while the adults have time to chat, relax and take-in the Danish lifestyle. See with your own eyes why Copenhagen is one of the most livable cities in the world because as the city council wisely said, “A city that is great for kids is great for everybody.”
Starting from Israels Plads, the Family Cargo Bike Adventure is a small-group tour that takes a maximum of 2-3 families to three playgrounds in Copenhagen’s family-friendly neighborhoods, Norrebro and Osterbro. If you’re traveling to Copenhagen with children below 12, give them an adventure that they won’t forget. The playgrounds are so fun that your guide will most likely forget about their role while they are sliding, swinging and climbing until they remember that the next playground provides even more thrills. Parks and playgrounds are not only a space to have fun but also a mirror of the neighborhood in which they reside. They can provide insights into how society functions, who lives in the area and what life is like for the locals, and engage in discussions and observations of the Scandinavian way of life. After a day exploring Copenhagen like a local, you’ll have a deep understanding of what it means to be a family in the city.

- The tour is a great fit for families with kids up to 12 or 13 years old. If your kids are teenagers, you should consider joining the Science of Happiness Tour instead.
- Please let us know in advance if you would like to rent a bike after the trip so we can reserve the bike for you.
FAQs
Infants below the age of 2 come for free. On the family activity, we offer kids discounts up to the age of 13. On our other tours, we don’t provide a discounted child price.
Copenhagen has on average 171 rainy days per year (days where it rains 10 minutes or more). So rain can be a reality in any season.
In case of a rainy forecast, we do the following:
- We do provide waterproof ponchos
- Try to move departure time to sunny hours, after consultation with all participants
- If it rains heavily, we may decide to cancel
- If you decide that you don’t want to participate due to the weather, you are welcome to cancel and you will get a refund
From our experience, a few rainy minutes add something special to the tour: a feeling of having conquered the day against all odds and having had a real Danish adventure!
We try to start punctually and we would appreciate it if you could come to the meeting point at Israels Plads (middle of the square) 5 minutes before departure. In the event that you are late, please try to contact us.

All our guides speak English. If you want a translation of the main parts of the tour to another language, please let us know in advance so we can schedule the appropriate guide to your tour or book a private tour.
Yes. There is a public bathroom at Torvehallerne near Israels Plads that you can use before the tour starts. We also have at least one more bathroom stop during each tour upon request.

This was the best Tour ever! Magical experience for 3 hours feeling like a local. Saw many secret places and loved the wind blowing in my ears as we moved along the bike lanes. Andreas was so interesting and sensitive to everyone’s needs. The electric bike was easy to handle and the rugs and waterproofs kept us warm and dry. We left in a real high, keen to do it all again!! Brilliant stuff!!
I thought it would be hard but the bike was so comfy and the electric engine was so good that I barely felt the effort…so I kept peddling for the rest of the tour lol. On top of all that, Andreas is one of the kindest, patient and personable guys I ever met. We had such a great chat throughout and it felt more than a service being delivered. It was a human encounter and a great cultural lesson.
